HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOM!!!
I was going to try and post this yesterday, but as always, time was not my friend last night :) So I wanted to take this opportunity to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, especially MINE!!
I have the most wonderful Mom in the whole Universe! Seriously, she’s awesome. I can honestly say she is one of my bestest friends. We were lucky enough that we’ve pretty much always gotten along really well, even through my teenage years where a lot of mothers and daughters don’t! Sure we’ve had our fair share of disagreements, arguments even…..but that’s about it. I have a brother and a sister too and my parents bend over backwards for us when we need! They’re amazing!
As I get older, I appreciate them more and more every single day! My mom is the perfect best friend - she’s a great listener and doesn’t judge me for the decisions I make, but instead is always there to support me! She’s a lot of fun and is a great mix between a parent and a friend - she always knew when to have fun, and then when to draw the line and take action as a parent and get serious. She’s a great cook and I was blessed growing up to not only have enjoyed her cooking, but also to now take the cooking skills she’s taught me and use those skills every day at home - I love to cook because of her! She’s also a master of all trades! She’s an awesome gardener, she knows how to crochet and knit, she hems my pants for me (THANK YOU, MOM! I need this done pretty much every time I buy a new pair of pants because I’m so short!!), she seems to know something about almost every subject which always amazes me, she loves animals, wildlife, fishing, you name it.
I’ve also watched for the last 26 years how great her and my dad are together! I couldn’t have asked for better role models. I’ve watched them fall even more in love, year after year, when most people don’t think that’s possible! I absolutely love marriage because of them! They’ve taught me how your spouse should be your best friend! I’ve mentioned before that my parents are farmers. I think this is probably the ultimate test for marriage :) They work together 24/7!!! They are each others’ boss and I know sometimes that must be very frustrating, but also so rewarding! They’re a great team!!
I also want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to the other Mom in my life - My awesome Mother-in-Law!!! She is so amazing!! I can’t help but feel so very sorry for all of the people that I hear complain about their mother in law. Most people say their mother’s in law are overbearing, overprotective, you name it. Not mine!!!!! She truly is amazing! She’s one of the kindest ladies I have ever met in my life! She couldn’t hurt a fly if she wanted to, she is just an all around great lady! She works EXTREMELY hard every single day to not only support herself and her family, but her mother - Chad’s grandma. It is amazing to see the patience and love she holds and possesses to care for his Grandma (who is yet another remarkable, amazing, and strong woman!!). I love to watch the bond that Chad has with his Mom. He is an only child so it is really amazing to see them together - they are best friends and it is so neat to see! I’ve truly been blessed with such an awesome mother in law!!! I’m lucky enough too that we are able to hang out, just the 2 of us sometimes. We’ve gotten together before just to meet up and do lunch, or go shopping! She’s truly a great friend of mine, not just a mother in law!
Unfortunately we don’t get to see either of our mothers as often as we like (they’re both about an hour away), but on the bright side, that makes our visits with them even more special! We love you!!!

Aw, thats sweet. Ive never really had a relationship like that with my mom, and kind of thought they were just like that on TV. Then I realized some people are lucky enough to have relationships like that with their mothers. Good for you, cherish it.

Kelly T - I’m so sad to hear stories like that! But I’d say it’s definitely common as I know a lot of people that don’t have a great relationship with their parents. I am glad that I realize how lucky I am - thanks for reminding me!

Wow~your mom sounds like a super woman! XD I wish I knew how to crochet and knit and sew AND cook!
It’s so encouraging to read about stuff like this because I know a lot of people don’t get along with their relatives
And I’m glad you have a great relationship with your mom-in-law
