Ugh, what a crazy time the last 24 hours have been!!! And mostly not in a good way
I want to officially declare that I don’t like softball! Don’t get me wrong, I DID until yesterday!
Chad had softball practice after work last night so I took Baylee to the dog park and got a good 5 laps in (4 miles!). Then we came home and I was trying to get supper prepared by the time Chad got home (7:30). He called me on his way home and warned me that something was wrong, but wouldn’t tell me what. NICE! He’s lucky he was only 5 minutes away! So then he walks in the door and this is what I see:
OUCH! He plays short stop and apparently I was fielding a grounder and it smashed his finger. It looked SO painful and would NOT STOP bleeding! I went to bed around 11 and it was still gushing blood! I wrapped it up so it wouldn’t bleed all over the bed – we didn’t know what else to do! The worst is that it’s his right hand, and I don’t think you realize how much you use your fingers until you can’t use one of them! I had a nurse here at work check it out today and she said he should be okay without having to go in to the clinic, but we have to monitor it in case it gets infected. This is pretty gross, but it must have partially detached his finger nail because blood was coming out of all parts of the nail (even the bottom where it’s supposed to be connected!!!). I have a pretty high tolerance for looking at that kind of stuff, but it’s still hard to take in when it’s yourself or a loved one!
Okay, so other than that, things are going good
Sorry for the late post but I’ve been SO busy. Here’s a recap from the rest of yesterday:
Lunch was just a leftover Boca Burger from what we grilled on Monday, along with Kashi crackers.
Lunch: 5 WW Points
I also had 2 snacks today – sorry no photos, they’re not coming up for some reason. But for accountability, they were:
- Cliff Z Bar – Chocolate Brownie – 2 points
- Mini Bag of Pop Secret Kettle Corn Popcorn – 2 points
Supper was something new! AND awesome
I am a huge Chinese Food lover! But as we all know, it’s not waist friendly at all! Well when I was at Sam’s Club last week, I found this:
I made it and added a few more veggies. For 1 cup, it’s only 3 WW POINTS!!! Before I opened it, I didn’t know if there’d be enough noodles so I made some brown rice on the side. Well it definitely would have been enough without the rice! Oh well, too late. Here’s my portion:
I wish I could say that was it…..but it was SO good and my night was so chaotic and stressful that I went back for a second helping!! Shame, shame because I was definitely full after the first platefull!
Supper: 8 WW Points
I also bought these new Ice Cream Bars at the grocery store today so I had one
I will photograph the box when I think of it.
Dessert: 2 WW Points
Total for today: 24 WW points
*Not bad overall – I thought I WAY overdid it because of dessert and my 2nd helping at supper, but it’s not that bad in reality. My daily goal is 19 points so I was over, but I did get a 4 mile walk in so that definitely helps!!*

OUCH! That looks so painful, hopefully it heals up fast!
On a lighter note though, that lo mein looks really good! I’m loving those noodles, they look pretty darn tasty, especially for boxed chinese haha
yikes, definitely is not pretty! hope he heals quick
mmm i cant wait to hear about the ice cream bars, i hope they are yummy!
Eek, oh my gosh! That looks painful… and you posted the pick right near the food! I hope he heals quickly
Thanks everyone for your well wishes! He said some of the feeling was starting to come back in it today! Oddly enough, it’s STILL bleeding! 2 days later! UGH!
I figured I’d leave you a comment here so I knew you’d see it
As for Jamaica, we stayed at Breezes Runaway Bay last year and loved it… It is about an hour (I think?) away from the Montego Bay airport, so it wasn’t in the heart of Montego Bay (apparently where all the spring breakers go)… We absolutely loved this resort and wanted to go back, but thought we’d go somewhere different, since it was our honeymoon haha… We recommended this resort to some of our friends who just returned from there and they loved it just as much
Enjoy Jamaica wherever you decide to go! Where are you staying at in Dominican Republic? I went to Punta Cana 2 years ago and we stayed at Melia Caribe and had a blast
