Weekend Review
Since this weekend was again very sporadic, busy, hectic, etc, I decided not to photograph all of my meals and am instead doing another product review post. We were on the road from Saturday afternoon until Sunday night, which meant a lot of meals away from home unfortunately. Don’t get me wrong, I absolute LOVE going out to eat, but I am SO bad at eating out….. I have a very hard time with portion control, as well as always choosing healthy options. I am so much more comfortable preparing the food myself - it ensures that I am cooking low fat, etc as well as allows me to just make enough to eat to make sure I’m not going back for seconds, thirds, etc. Eating out at restaurants is something I’ve struggled with for the last 5-6 years, ever since I made a choice to lose weight, eat healthier, etc……and it’s definitely still a work in progress! Now, considering that, I do have to show you one of the things I ordered this weekend. After our 5k on Sunday, we went and ate at Curly’s Pub (a sport’s bar) inside Lambeau Field. I got a wrap with chips and it was SO yummy, and although I was full, I felt like having dessert…..yes, a huge reason was probably because I felt like I deserved it after my huge accomplishment :) So, I order the carrot cake, and this is what they bring me:
….and let me tell you, this picture doesn’t do it justice. It was SOOOO huge! All the people at my table just burst out laughing when the waitress brought this
Anyway, on to the review. These weren’t all products I tried this weekend, but I haven’t mentioned them so far so thought this would be a good time to do it.
Boca Bruschetta Burger
These are really, really good! I prepared them in the oven and put them on a bun with LF Pizza Sauce and LF Cheddar Cheese. I think they’re a great alternative to regular Boca burgers if you either don’t like them, or just want to mix it up! And get this, they’re only 1 WW point!!!! I couldn’t believe that! I would definitely recommend them!
Bagel-Fuls
Wow, these are seriously A.mazing! And super addicting, so watch out. I got the cinnamon flavor and could probably eat the box in one sitting! I kept them frozen and toasted them. This kept the cream cheese frozen but the outside warm and tasty which was a really good combo, but you can thaw them too and microwave or toast them. YUM!
Grilled Fish and Grilled Garlic Bread
This looks odd as a product review, but it does include two new things that we tried out on Friday: grillling fish as well as grilling our garlic bread! We have a basket that you use for the fish (sorry forgot to take a pic of it) but you basically put the thawed fish in (we used cod) and close the top to hold the fish in. It took longer than we though on the grill, but oh my gosh was it worth it!!!! Seriously, SO good. And we also slapped our garlic bread on the grill….mmmmmmm!
….and, last but not least……
WHEATBERRIES!!!!!!!
Yes, I have officially jumped on the wheatberry train and I’m not getting off anytime soon! I soaked them all day Friday and boiled them Friday night and popped them in the fridge. Saturday morning before heading to Green Bay, I made oatmeal and slipped in 1/4 cup of cooked wheatberries….SO good and SO chewy! I absolutely LOVED the texture!!!
My mixture was 1/3 cup oats, 2/3 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup wheatberries, vanilla, flax, cinnamon, and PB. YUMMO!!!!!! I also made this Monday morning since I had the day off and could actually make a decent breakfast! :) I can’t wait to try wheatberries in other ways!

Hahaha that cake is INSANE. I agree with the dangers of bringing it home though, I would probably end up picking at it every time I opened the fridge!

Jenn - you will love them! I’m just trying to figure out what else to put them in/on…..?
Danielle - Unfortunately not
It was staring at me in the fridge! I guess it could have been worse, I didn’t eat it all in one day! Plus I did end up throwing out a bit just because I knew if I didn’t, I’d eat it!!!

Ashley - Trust me, if I could find wheatberries in my little teeny, tiny town that has no selection, I’m sure you can too
I bought them at this little health food store that we have - they were in bulk, right by the bulk oats, beans, etc…..they were called something wheatberry but I don’t remember the name.
