Good Morning blog readers!!!
So……I came to a conclusion yesterday! I realized that my favorite days, are days where I run in the morning, and have coffee. I think the running wakes me up, boosts my endorphins to put me in a good mood, and keeps me on track for the day because since I got in a great workout, it helps me eat better throughout the day! The coffee also helps wake me up (obvi) but I also love it because I LOVE having something warm and creamy to sip on in the morning and it makes my first couple of hours of work seem more enjoyable! Plus, I spend all day on the phone with clients and I get pretty hyper when I have coffee. This makes me more talkative on the phone and makes me more energetic, helping me make more sales and build better rapport! Now that’s a win-win!
So, although I absolutely LOVE my morning mug of coffee, I try not to have it every day because I’m really trying hard not to become dependent on it! I don’t want headaches when I don’t have it, or become sluggish, etc. hmmm…..what to do?? For instance, this morning I REALLY wanted coffee but I had it yesterday and knew I’d be having it tomorrow (and over the weekend I’m sure) so I skipped it….but now I miss it!!
Anywhoo, yesterday’s eats were great if I do say so myself
It feels so wonderful to be back in control. I told my friend on Monday (that goes with me to the Weight Watcher meetings) that my goal for January is to “Gain back my self control over food”! We kind of joked about it because it sounds rather silly, but it’s true. I’ve lost sight lately on that so need to get back my self control!!

BREAKFAST - 5 WW POINTS
I of course had my coffee
To it I add 1 Tbsp of creamer and some light vanilla soy milk, making it 1 WW Point. I also had my FAVORITE breakfast of all time. A microwave omelet on an English Muffin.

For the microwave omelet, I just scramble up 3 egg whites, some deli ham, and some low fat cheese! Microwave for 2-2 1/2 minutes. SOOOOOO Good and filling because of the protein!! 3 WW Points for that, and then 1 WW Point for the muffin.

I tried a little something different to spice it up. I always hear Tina talking about hot sauce, buffalo sauce, etc so yesterday I added some of this baby:

MMMMMMM! I LOVED it! It definitely kicked it up a notch
This wonderful breakfast kept me full all the way until 12:15!!! I think it helped that I slowly sipped my coffee for 2 1/2 hours!!!! I like to enjoy things
LUNCH – 3 WW POINTS
Sorry to bore you guys but I did the same thing for lunch as the day before. Honestly, I love it so much that I had to! Plus I needed to keep my points relatively low because I knew supper would be a little higher in points! Here’s my ham sammy (bread, FF mayo, ham, lettuce, cheese) with freebies of carrots and pickles. I went all out and had 2 yummy Claussen pickles! My fave!

SNACK – 1 WW POINT
A boring but yummy orange.

As promised, I have a great recipe for y’all!!! I found this recipe through a friend a year or two ago, and it’s been a staple in our kitchen ever since. It is SO easy, very healthy, and extremely tasty! Now that’s a perfect recipe
The recipe is from Kraft. There are some wonderful recipes on that site!!
Quick Jambalaya
-
1 Tbsp. oil – (I just use cooking spray and spray the pan – saves calories)
-
1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage, sliced, quartered
-
1 medium onion, chopped
-
1 can (14 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
-
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) chicken broth
-
1 medium green pepper, chopped
-
1/2 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce
-
1 lb. frozen cooked shrimp, thawed
-
2 cups instant white rice, uncooked – (I use brown)
HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add sausage and onion; cook and stir until sausage is no longer pink.
ADD tomatoes, chicken broth, green pepper, barbecue sauce, shrimp and rice; mix well. Bring to boil; cover.
REMOVE from heat; let stand 5 minutes. Stir gently before serving.

Hooray for running and for your progress!!
that egg sammy looks really good… i’m a big fan of english muffins so i may need to steal this idea – cold cereal just isn’t cutting it for me these days… do you make these ahead of time and then just reheat?
franks red hot is my favvvorrriteee on eggs! can’t eat them without it!
Since it’s the caffine that causes withdrawal headaches, why not do decaf sometimes?
Jodi – yup, I make them on Sundays and then have them during the week! They reheat really well!
dailygoods – I will have to agree with you now after having it
I had it again this morning…I think I’m becoming obsessed!
mryjane – Yeah, actually I think I will do that. Good thinking
Wow what a great idea to make the sandwiches and then reheat. I am totally doing that this week at least one time!
I saw your comment on my blog!
Good luck with your hard work! I like the weight watcher ideals but I would never be able to understand the points! So kudos to you!
I love Frank’s Red Hot too! I think I feel the same about running and a warm mug of coffee too!
Want to add me to your blogroll? I will add you so I can keep in touch if that’s alright?
Frank’s is the best!
I agree that there is no better way to start than day than with coffee and a run. And more coffee =)
Glad you had such an awesome start! Delicious eats!
Good job on your meals and the counting! Amen for self-control.. I’m learning!
Great idea for your breakfast sandwich! It looks so yummy.
I love my morning coffee routine, too!
The jambalaya looks great!
Have a great weekend.
