…..until the HALF MARATHON!!!!!! Can you believe it? I remember last May when I decided that I might want to someday partake in a half. Then in December I decided to start running and could only run 2 minutes at a time. Then in February I started to train. Wow. Time flies when you’re having fun, right?
I am so scared/nervous/excited/anxious for the Half on Sunday. Actually, mostly excited! It’s definitely going to be a whirlwind weekend though:
- Tomorrow (Thursday) I’ll be gone all night to cheer on my hubs at his softball game
- Friday I have off of work – in the morning I’m taking Baylee to the dog park, dropping her off at the kennel, and then we’re heading out of town for the Half. The Half is an hour and a half away from us and we have friends in that town, so we decided to make a weekend of it. So Friday night Chad and I are hanging out during the day together and having a date night and then going to a friend’s place for movies, popcorn, and sleepy-sleep.
- Saturday morning we are going to the local Y for a light workout. Then we’re going to bum during the day and might head to the hotel we’re staying at early to swim for awhile since we NEVER get to swim! Hello, we’re in Wisconsin. In the afternoon we’re heading to the site of the Half to register and browse the running expo (can’t WAIT for that!!!). And in the evening we’re meeting a bunch of friends out for supper to do some carb loading
- Sunday morning we have to be at the race site by 6:45am (!?!?!?) because Chad and my college Bestie are running the 5k at 7. We’ll have to leave pretty early because the race is at Lambeau Field (where the Green Bay packers play) and there are 10,000 runners so it is going to be busy, busy, BUSY!
- And then at 7:30, I start my race!!! Again, SO flippin’ excited! As of now the weather looks amazing for the day – 65* and sunny so even at 7:30, I should be good. I get really, really warm while I run so I think no matter what I’m going to just run in my capris and tank top….I’m sure I’ll be quite chilly at first though….
I can’t wait to report to y’all how it went!!! My goal time is 2:19. We shall see
So guess what? I actually rememered to take pics of what I ate today! I know, I know….it’s about time.
BREAKFAST
I did something that I RARELY do this morning….stopped at a local gas station to grab a cappuccino. BUT…in my defense, it was a really dreary, damp, cold morning and I was in the mood
I present to you my newest love: Banana Foster Cappuccino (doesn’t that just sounds amazing??):

I tried a new product this morning: Trader Joe’s Steel Cut Oats

I had no clue what to expect but it came in this little frozen “baggie” and you just put it in the microwave. Can it get any easier?

After heating and mixing in a banana, here you go:

Verdict? It was really good but to be honest, I probably wouldn’t buy them again. I’m so used to rolled oats now and not prepackaged oatmeal that this was really artificial to me. Plus it didn’t save me any time from just grabbing my bag of oats and popping them in the microwave.
LUNCH
For lunch I just thawed out some leftover Turkey Meatloaf, and had a salad and wheat bun on the side.

SNACK
One of my alltime faves – EDAMAME!!!!!

And an orange

SUPPER
My supper looked huge!!! but it really wasn’t at all. I baked up some tofu, some tofu shirataki noodles (mixed with a laughing cow cheese wedge and parmesan cheese), some roasted zucchini, and stir-fried veggies. I didn’t realize I was having two tofu items until I was cooking
OOPS! It was delish though!

I also had a bowl of ice cream for dessert but forgot to take a pic
I had SOOO many other things that I wanted to say (an update on my weight since I stopped counting calories, my fastest run ever, pictures of Baylee, etc) but I need to jet. I want to create a playlist on my iPod for the half and tonight is my only night to do it and it’s already 9pm!
So – I will be back either on Sunday night or Monday (I took the day off to recover) with a whole lotta stuff to say
Good luck with the Half!!
You’ll do fabulous on your half! Plus it’s in an awesome place as well! Make sure you take lots of pics.
Good luck – you`ll do awesome!
Incase I don’t talk to you before you leave – good luck!! I know you’ll do amazing!!
Be sure to text me when you have a chance!!
Good luck on the marathon! I’m sure you’ll do great.
I tried the TJ’s oats once. I thought they were okay, but it’s so easy to make them that I can’t see the point of frozen oats.
I was thinking about you today and wondering what you’ve been up to!
Good luck on the race, I know you’ll do amazing! And while I am usually to jealous and pissy about people running to read/comment about it these days, I can wait to hear all about it!!!
MUCH LOVE!!!
Good luck on your half!

Good luck on your half!!!! Yay!!!!
If you like TJ’s steel cut oats, I found it is cheaper to make a giant batch of non-instant SCO and then use my vacuum seal to create individual baggies. Way cheaper and I made a giant batch one free evening. Couldn’t tell the difference!
can’t wait to hear about the half!
