So for any of you that are friends with me on Facebook, you can tell that I had one of the best weekends EVER! And I’ve had a lot of good weekends
For those of you that don’t know, Hodag is a huge Country Music festival in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Chad and I aren’t even big country music fans, but we’ve always wanted to go because we’ve heard it’s such a blast…..this year we lucked out and our friends and our friends’ parents had an extra campsite (VIP, right next to the stage!!!!) so we decided to go! Boy are we glad we did – SO much fun!!!

Not only did we have a blast playing lawn games, drinking, and hanging out, we also saw some of the best performers including:
- Phil Vassar
- Neal McCoy
- Sawyer Brown (who we had VIP tickets for!!)
- Zac Brown Band
- Eric Church
- Miranda Lambert
- SheDaisy
- Billy Ray Cyrus
and my personal favorite…

Julianne Hough!!!!!!!!!! (from Dancing With The Stars)….OMG was she amazing! We saw her up close and personal and man is she GORGEOUS! And she seemed so down to earth and nice, even better
So basically, it was amazing. We took Monday off to recover, obvi
In health and fitness news, we are finally moved into our new building at work. It’s nice because it’s a closer drive and it’s a HUGE new gorgeous building. The good and bad thing is that I’m now on the 3rd floor, whereas before I was on the 1st floor. Now normally this would be awesome because it’d be a great way to build in mini workouts – taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
The bad thing, is that stairs KILL MY KNEE! Because of my right knee having no cartilege, it just hurts like the dickens…going down the stairs is the worst and I wince in pain with every step. Lately what I’ve been doing is taking the stairs up and the elevator down, to save my knee. Well, unfortunately it gets more complicated. Basically all of my coworkers know that I’m a health and fitness nut! I even work out with a few of the executives of our company so they know that fitness is very important to me. Well within the last week, 5 coworkers/executives have caught me taking the elevator and have called me out on it!!! I’m SO embarassed crawling into/out of the elevator because that’s totally not me – normally I wouldn’t be caught dead taking an elevator to just the 3rd floor. I try giving an explanation that I have a bad knee but that doesn’t sound legit coming from a 27 year old. UGH! I know this isn’t a huge deal but just something I needed to vent about since I need to go up and down about 4 or 5 times a day! It’s funny how EMBARRASED I am taking the elevator!
In other fitness news, I don’t know if I’ve really mentioned it or not but I’ve decided to do another Half Marathon!!! My friend, Renee (with me in the pics from Hodag), and I are planning on doing the Fox Cities Half in September! My running has been kind of half-a$$ed lately so I’m excited for another challenge to begin. I’m only running 3-4 miles right now so I better get my butt in gear, huh?
OH! By the way, have I mentioned that I’m going to the HEALTHY LIVING SUMMIT in Boston in August??? I am SOOOO freaking excited! I can’t wait to meet all the ladies who’ve blogs I’ve been reading forever! Anyone else going????
Speaking of trips, I’m going to Seattle next weekend! It’s kind of a last minute thing but I’m up for it
My brother is going for a church conference type of thing and he needed someone to go, and that someone is ME! I’ve always wanted to go to Seattle so I can’t wait. I’ll be there for less than 24 hours but hey, I’m still going, right?!?
Last but not least, since I am a HUGE fan of The Bachelor/Bachelorette (GO KIPTYN!!!!), have any of you seen the commercials for the new show coming out More To Love? It’s basically a “normal size” version of The Bachelor….with size 12 ladies instead of size 2…. I guess I’m kind of torn on it because on one hand, it’s awesome that they’re realizing that being a size 2, 100 pounds, and 5′10″ isn’t normal and that other people are attractive too. But at the same time, I see it as a show to kind of make fun “bigger” people…I saw the previews and it seems like it’s just mocking overweight people to me. I don’t know. What are your thoughts???
I would kill to go that concert! It looks like a blast. Julianne was supposed to open to the George Strait concert I went to but backed out b/c of strep. Had to watch Leann Womack instead. Great pics though!
Can’t wait to meet you at the Summit!
And I know what you mean about that show. Why can’t they get people who are actually a realistic representation of women. Not tiny, not huge.
I’m so excited you are coming to the Healthy living Summit too!!
I’m also torn on how I feel about “More to Love”… just from the few commercials I’ve seen I really think it is going to be more about pointing out weight more than anything.
PS – Chick, you look fantastic!!
PSS – Can’t wait to finally meet my sister from another mister!
Sooooo totally jealous you saw Julianne. As a mega DWTS fan, and lover of that spunky gal, I envy you.
All the fun stuff happens when I’m pregnant!
That music festival sounds like a total blast!!!
