MMMMM, last night’s sleep was just what I needed! For the first time in weeks I got a full 8 hours of sleep. I decided to surpass my early morning workout today and just sleep, which I also haven’t done in weeks. I am trying really hard to listen to my body more and my body wanted more sleep! Fine by me 🙂
WEEKEND RECAP
Since I skipped out on a weekend recap, here are some lovely pictures. We had some friends up from Madison (who are hopefully new blog readers – HI Matt and Erin!!) and we had SUCH a great time! We also had our neighbors over so it was the 6 of us – our Madtown friend made a pork roast and we had a lovely dinner. I felt like we were a big family as we sat around our large dining room table and had roast, mashed taters, corn, salad, and fruits and veggies 🙂 SO much fun! Afterwards we played some fun games including my new fave, Apples to Apples!
I didn’t win but I sure gave it my all!
Midway through the night Chad had to go in our hall closet and he pulls out this jean jacket I hadn’t seen in years. We of course had to dare him to try it on. I quick snapped a picture before I made him take it off so he wouldn’t rip it 🙂 Let’s just say it was a little snug!!
Here’s my new BFF, Erin, hanging with Bales on the couch…
More Apples to Apples…
SUPER BOWL
Sunday night we went to Tilted Kilt with some friends to watch the game. We were routing for the underdog Cardinals so weren’t pleased with the outcome but had a blast watching. Unfortunately because of the last Steeler’s touchdown, we barely missed out on winning $150!!!!!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!
We have a single friend who is a lot of fun, but there are obvious reasons he’s single if you know what I mean 🙂 He’s just one of those guys that will probably always be single, but we’re constantly trying to hook him up with ladies. He kept trying to hit on one of the waitresses at Tilted Kilt and he eventually asked her to paint eye smudges on him 🙂 She did but that was all that came of it!
YESTERDAY
Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I woke up early and ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill!!!! It went really well and I felt great afterwards. The only bad thing with me getting up to higher mileage is that it’s taking longer so I’m going to have to start getting up earlier to make it to work on time 😦 Luckily most of the longer runs are on weekends so it won’t be too bad though.
My eats were pretty boring but I’m proud to report for the most park were CFW approved!!
Oatmeal with blueberries and banana…
Orange…
Shrimp with brown rice, black eyed peas, and stir fried veggies. YUMMMMMMMY!
Unpictured snacks: 3 prunes and 2 bites of yogurt (it tasted nasty so threw out)
Baked tofu, couscous, and roasted veggies….
Unpictured dessert with watching The Bachelor: multigrain cracker crisps I got a free sample of at my WW meeting, topped with natural PB and mini chocolate chips. Holy Yum!
WEIGHT
I’ve gotten a couple questions on how CFW has affected my weight and I know you’re all curious. Although weight loss was definitely NOT one of my goals on CFW, it did have a positive effect on it. I am down about 3 pounds from when I started CFW…..I’m hoping that’s exactly what I need to break past the plateau I’ve been at for basically 1-2 years now. I still have my goal to be 117-120 and know it’s definitely doable. Last night I weighed in at my Weight Watcher meeting at 129.6. I’m hoping that my running will also start to show…..I haven’t noticed a difference yet in my body shape or weight even now that I’m running 10-13 miles a week. Maybe once I start getting into higher mileage??
RUNNING
All you runners out there – when you started running, did you see a difference on the scale or in the way your clothes fit??
This is definitely not why I started running…..I started running because running a Half Marathon has always been a huge goal of mine and that is what I’m really trying to accomplish. I’m just hoping along the way it positively affects my body as well 🙂
BAYLEE PIC OF THE DAY
Did you count points while doing the CFW?
That baked tofu looks YUMMY!
Hi Baylee! 🙂
I’ve been wondering how that Apples to Apples is! I’m glad you had a nice time.
Running hasn’t helped me on the scale any because it makes my appetite CRAZY, but it has changed my body. My legs used to be undefined and the least part of my body, but now they’re much more toned and have actual definition! Good luck 🙂
Andrea – yes and no…..At the end of the day I’d kind of tally the points in my head. Interesting enough, most days I was over my points! I was averaging 20-22 points a day through CFW, roughly.
love apples to apples…one of the best games around!
and when i started running my clothes did start fitting different by getting tighter in some spots (quads) but looser in others (hips and waist and chest). i think it all depends on the kidn of running you do also!
best of luck!
apples to apples is sucha great game! how do you cook your baked tofu?
