Warm, Yummy Start

I got a much needed 8 full hours of sleep last night – It’s been a while so it felt REALLY good.  Usually Baylee gets us up at the same time on the weekends as during the week (6 am) but this morning she slept until 7:15!  Which means I did too!  😉

It’s another gloomy day outside so oatmeal was in the forecast.  I LOVE making oatmeal at home instead of in the microwave at work.  I actually get to make it on the stove!  SO much better!

I tried a new concoction this morning – Applesauce!  I used to do it all the time at work, but in a different way (microwave, no milk…boring).  This morning I did: 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup water.  Then when it was almost done, added 1/2 cup applesauce and cooked that for a bit.  Then added: vanilla, cinnamon, SF syrup, flax seed, 1/4 cup dried cranberries, and 10 g Peanut Butter.  It was really good!  I loved the consistency the applesauce added, and it seemed to add a lot of bulk!  Who wouldn’t love that?!?!? 

Breakfast = 395 calories

While I had that, Chad had toast with PB & J, alongside bacon drenched in syrup and a Mountain Dew 🙂  Gotta love him.  I’m not complaining though because it’s better than his usual Little Debbie Nutty Bar!! 🙂

We are off to the gym!  Usually on Saturdays Chad goes to the gym and I go with Baylee to the dog park, but today I decided to tag along with Chad because it’s been raining a lot so I think the dog park would be a mess!  Instead I’ll hit the gym and come home and take her for a walk/run.

Banana Hot Dogs???

As everyone will soon see….I have a second love of my life besides Chad.  I know, I know, GHASP!  Don’t worry – it’s not human.  It’s PEANUT BUTTER!  I could honestly eat a whole container in one sitting and still want more!  (Come to think of it, I probably HAVE done that!!)  My breakfast was already in the works and didn’t have PB in it, so I needed to include it for lunch!  Ah, but what to have??

I won’t lie – I stole this idea from Kath’s blog! I’ve been thinking about it since she did it like 2 weeks ago!  FINALLY it makes an appearance!  It was delish!  Kath is a genious!!!  I love her approach to food and it’s helped me a lot.  For the sandwich, it’s just an Ezekial Bun with a Banana, PB, and SF jam….nothing crazy, but oh so wonderful!
