Off to a Great Start!!!

This morning since I knew it was supposed to be such a nice day (70 and sunny!), I decided to set the alarm early and get up to take Baylee for a walk.  I love doing this – I just don’t want to do it everyday so she gets in the habit of waking up early!  Because that’ll mean she’ll wake up at 5 on Saturday and Sunday too!  Not good 🙂  So we went for a 40 minute walk/run.  It was great – sunny and birds chirping everywhere!  Burned 200 calories as well.  Before we left, I had 1/2 of a Cliff Z Kids Bar – the brownie flavor, for some energy.

I also made another smoothie this morning.  Same as yesterday – soy milk, WW Chocolate Smoothie, and frozen fruit.

I also made a bowl of Oatmeal with my packet of Uncle Sam’s Whole Grain and Flax, along with cinnamon and dried cranberries.  Made with water since the milk was in my smoothie.

Breakfast = 425 calories

While I was at Target yesterday, I also found this really cute portable Rubbermaid water bottle.  I figured you can’t beat it for $2, so in my cart in went.  I like that it has a straw!!!  How fun 🙂

A Better Start…..hopefully!

After yesterday’s experience with being unsatisfied the whole day, I knew that this morning I needed to try a different approach…..with our cupboards quickly becoming bare, I scoured the fridge, pantry, and freezer last night.  As I said yesterday, I’m running low on fresh fruit so needed to hit up my frozen stash.  A smoothie was the solution.  My combo was 1 cup vanilla soy milk, 1 chocolate Weight Watchers smoothie packet, and a handful of frozen strawberries, frozen peaches, and frozen pineapple!  It was an odd combo, but tasted really, really good!!!

Normally smoothies don’t fill me up….I absolutely love them because they’re refreshing, take a while to drink, have a lot of combination options….but I think I still feel hungry because I didn’t actually get to CHEW something!  At least that’s what I am assuming.  So although I made a smoothie, I needed to pair it with something else.

Oatmeal!  I had some leftover pumpkin in the fridge that needed to be used, and I had some extra time this morning!!!  So I made it over the stove, and then brought it into work to rehead.  The combo was: 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk, 1/2 cup water, cinnamon, vanilla….and then 7 g of mini chocolate chips on top!  Who wouldn’t love chocolate so early in the morning! 🙂  Also, I ate my smoothie with a spoon instead of just chugging it down, so hopefully that will help as well.

Altogether:

Breakfast = 7 points
